Walt said “Disneyland will never be finished as long as there is imagination left in the world.” And after 70 years, that statement continues to be true! The parks are continually evolving, bringing fresh experiences and attractions to its guests.
With each passing year, the park introduces new rides, immersive lands, and seasonal events that keep visitors coming back for more.
Staying updated on the latest attractions is essential for anyone planning a visit to ensure they don’t miss out on the hottest experiences. In this article, we’ll explore some of the trending attractions at Disneyland Resort, highlighting what’s new and worth your time.

Recent Additions to Disneyland Park
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Bayou Country
By far, one of the best refurbishments in recent years, is the attraction Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which opened in late 2024. This reimagined ride will take guests on a journey inspired by “The Princess and the Frog,” showcasing Tiana’s adventures as she seeks her dreams while celebrating New Orleans culture through music and storytelling.
Along with the attraction opening, the land has been renamed from Critter Country to Bayou Country, with shops being re-themed to “The Princess and the Frog.” The whole area is delightful and worth a visit!
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
One of the most significant expansions in recent years has been Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which opened in 2019. This immersive 13 acre land transports guests to the outer rim planet Batuu, allowing them to step into the Star Wars universe like never before. Within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, there are two incredible attractions you need to know about:
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run invites Star Wars fans to pilot the iconic starship that made the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs. (Pro tip – this attraction offers a Single Rider line that often moves way faster than the standard queue. Just know that you’ll probably ride in an engineer seat with strangers!)
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance takes immersion to another level with groundbreaking technology and storytelling that places guests directly in an epic battle between the First Order and the Resistance. This attraction is like 3 rides in one, and no two experiences are the same.
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
Additionally, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, which opened in early 2023, offers a whimsical adventure featuring Mickey Mouse and friends. Utilizing a trackless ride system, this family-friendly attraction provides an unpredictable experience as guests journey through colorful scenes that drop you right into a Mickey Mouse cartoon! (Be aware this ride may be intense for young guests or guests who are easily overstimulated by sights and sounds.)
Adventureland Treehouse
Nostalgia overload with this one! Disneyland fans of a certain age will remember the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse before it was reimagined into Tarzan’s Treehouse. Now this attraction has been reimagined once again into the timeless Adventureland Treehouse, where guests can peek into the rooms of a fictional family who loves dreaming about adventure and the future.
Recent Additions to Disney California Adventure
Avengers Campus
Across the way you wont want to miss Avengers Campus, which debuted in 2021. One attraction opened with the land, an interactive-super hero experience called Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure. This innovative ride allows guests to join Spider-Man on a mission by using hand gestures to sling webs at the spiderbots taking over the Campus. Think of it like Toy Story Mania or Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, but instead of using a device to shoot, you just use your arms! This one is really popular so expect long waits, or utilize Lightning Lane. (Hot tip – Spidey himself often meets with guests in this same area so be on the lookout!)
Pixar Pier
All you Pixar fans will not want to miss walking through Pixar Pier (formerly Paradise Pier). While you’re there, look out for appearances by Joy and Sadness from “Inside Out,” and be sure to get a Jack Jack’s Num Num Cookie over by the entrance to Incredi-coaster … it’s literally the best chocolate chip cookie ever!
Upcoming Attractions to Watch For
There is always something fun in development at Disneyland Resort! In the coming years, Avengers Campus will be expanding with two innovative new attractions: Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab.
Over at Disneyland Park, get ready to learn about Walt Disney in a way that’s never been done before! Walt Disney – A Magical Life is coming to the Disneyland Opera House in May 2025 as part of the Disneyland 70 anniversary celebration. The show will include the first ever Walt Disney audio-animatronic to help tell the story of Walt’s life. Bring some tissues because I have a feeling this show is going to be very emotional.
While classic attractions provide that feeling of timeless nostalgia that Disney is so known for, it’s also great that Disneyland continues to add exciting new experiences for the next generations to love!
